This green smoothie is a delicious spring/summer breakfast or nutritious snack in the afternoon. Remember, a smoothie is a very nutrient-dense food and should not be gulped down in a hurry. I like to eat mine with a spoon and savor every single “bite” of it.
makes about 3 cups
1 cup of water
4 handfuls of kale, Swiss chard, collard greens (discard stalks) or spinach
1 ripe banana, peeled, cut into chunks
1 handful of strawberries or other berries (can be frozen)
1 avocado, peeled, pit removed
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
Puree all ingredients in a blender and drink slowly.
